Every student, no matter what their demographic or socio-economic status, deserves the best education possible. This is the personal philosophy of Lisa F. Thomas, who will be serving as the Principal of Charter East II for the 2017-2018 school year. She joins the Ombudsman family with over 25 years of experience in Academia.
Ms. Thomas possesses a 6th Year Certificate in Educational Leadership and Supervision, a Master of Science degree in History and Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Social Studies. In her previous positions Ms. Thomas has served as a Vice President of Educational Services for Catapult Learning and Edison Learning in Hawaii, as well as an inter-district magnet school principal in Connecticut. Under her leadership the school received a Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction Award. Her classroom experience includes teaching World and American History at the secondary level, for which she was named Connecticut Teacher of the Year by the Connecticut Council for the Social Studies; as well as Western Civilization and Modern German History at the university level.
