Letter From the Principal - Ombudsman Charter NE Tempe, AZ
Education is the most powerful weapon art

Letter from the Principal

Sara Garcia, Principal

Welcome Back Charter Northeast Families to the 2021-2022 School Year,

We are eagerly anticipating the return of students for full-time in person learning on Monday, August 16th.  As always, we plan to remain as flexible as possible during the upcoming year to protect the health and safety of staff, students, and families.  As I enter my fifteenth year with Ombudsman. I, like many of you, am navigating carefully through the “new normal” while staying focused on a goal to get students graduated from high school.  While many students are telling us that they look forward to seeing teachers and friends again, we know that the transition back to in-person learning may require extra academic and emotional supports.  If your student or your families are in need of additional resources or assistance this year, please feel free to reach out to us so we can help connect you with someone who can help.  As students come back to campus they can look forward to the return of the C-Tech program and the addition of new LT Academy programs such as the NHA healthcare certification program offered through our sister school Charter Metro, Career Ready Tempe internships, and the expansion of our social and emotional wellness program delivered by the on-site social work team.  Policies and procedures for the 21-22 school year will be aligned with guidance from the Arizona Department of Education, the Center for Disease Control, and the office of the governor.  As circumstances change, we are prepared to implement any necessary changes based on community health.  If your contact information has changed we ask that you please update us with new phone numbers, addresses, and emails to ensure that you are receiving the most up to date information.  Staff will begin reaching out to students next week with back to school reminders and give students a chance to ask any last minute questions prior to orientation and training week.

Thank you again for placing your trust in us to help your students to succeed and stay safe,

Ms. Sara Garcia
