Yes, every year we will host our traditional graduation ceremony at the end of the school year to celebrate all graduates from that year. During the celebration, students wear caps and gowns and get to walk across the stage with their class.
Click on “Get Started” in the menu to fill out the form. A staff member will contact you soon to guide you on the next steps.
Our classrooms tend to be smaller than a traditional high school and while in school, students are immersed in a blended learning environment. What this means is that for their English and Math classes students will be in a traditional teacher-led classroom, similar to what you see in a traditional high school. For the rest of the time, students are in a lab environment working at their own pace through the rest of the classes. In the labs, there is a teacher to provide one-on-one support.
Students attend school for four hours a day Monday-Friday. You’ll have the option to attend our morning or afternoon session.
For those students who cannot attend regularly, we have the OMB Online Academy which provides greater schedule flexibility.
Testimonials
What helped me be successful at Ombudsman West was the staff there that believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. What I liked most about West was the staff were on your side and that it’s at your own pace and they understood that life happens. The most challenging thing about high school is that sometimes it gets hard and it’s hard to stay motivated on the bigger picture that high school isn’t forever but if you need the help just find that teacher that understands the most and you will get through the hard parts of high school knowing that you have someone on your side.
Going to Ombudsman West was my way of growing up and getting things together. I would say the staff at Ombudsman helped me be successful. There were definitely times I wanted to drop out because it was getting to hard and I was doubting myself, but not once did they ever let me quit. They pushed me harder than I have been pushed and it felt good to know that people were in your corner wanting you to do better. The thing I liked most was the goals the staff had helped me make for myself.
Principal's Letter
Dear Students & Families:
We are happy to welcome you to Ombudsman West High School (OMB West), home of the Warriors. Our campus offers students a flexible 4-hour schedule that is filled with engaging lessons and spirited campus activities that encourage students to reach their academic and personal goals. Whether you are looking for a smaller class size, to recover credit, graduate early, or work school into adult life responsibilities- OMB West keeps that diploma in sight.
This school year our theme is, “Elevate the Warrior within”! We will set the example for our students by modeling and helping them develop soft skills. We will prepare our students to navigate life after high school through engaging lessons that incorporate student voice. As a Microsoft Showcase School, our students gain workplace experience they can add to their resumes. Students are given opportunities to explore college, trade, and career options throughout the year. As educators, our goal is to engage students in their learning, teach them accountability and time management. All students are assigned a mentor teacher that helps them stay on track with coursework and meet their graduation goals.
At OMB West, we offer several opportunities for engagement:
- Block Fridays
- Job Fairs
- Clubs
- College & Career Days
- Community Service Opportunities
- C-Tech & Medical Certifications
Our goal is to connect with families, collaborate with our community, and graduate our students! We look forward to the new year and are excited to see our students, “Elevate”!
Sincerely,
Ms. Tanicka Garretson
