Testimonials
I enjoy being a student at Ombudsman Charter East because the format they have for completing your diploma and getting the credits you need is easy, flexible, and even fun. The teachers give great support and are ready for any questions you might have trouble with. Another benefit to Ombudsman High school is that you can work at your own pace, whether that’s fast and ready or slow and steady.
Ombudsman Charter East has made it easier for students to progress and has led many to success. The support others and I have received has been instrumental in our educational development. Smaller classrooms enable students to advance themselves further by communicating and visualizing openly. Being able to work at one’s own pace gives students the ability to progress by improving at least 5 percent in each class, which gives them the opportunity to gain more credits and graduate early.

Principal's Letter
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to the 25/26 school year! It is with great excitement that I welcome each of you back to school. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time. I am your principal Venessa Barrett, and I am happy to return to Ombudsman East Charter High School for the second school year, I bring over 19 years of experience in education, dedicated to supporting marginalized youth and advocating for equity. My work has focused on creating inclusive spaces, removing barriers, and helping every student reach their full potential. I remain committed to closing opportunity gaps and building pathways to success for all learners.
Our theme for this school year is “Together We Can.” Together, we can support each other, achieve our goals, overcome challenges, and create a learning environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and inspired. We are a welcoming community that supports students who thrive in a close-knit and personalized learning environment. We are pleased to announce that we have upgraded our technology with new student laptops and improved internet access across the school. Our Senior Academy Lab will continue to offer seniors a state-of-the-art experience with mentorship towards graduation.
In the months ahead, you’ll have opportunities to grow not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and creatively. Our teachers and staff are support systems prepared to help you thrive. Let this year be one where you reach higher and dream bigger. Every day is a chance to make a positive difference together. I’m proud to lead such an incredible community, and I look forward to the amazing things we will accomplish this year.
